Hear ye! Hear ye! For all who are unaware, Stranger Things star Millie Bobby Brown is engaged! Well, at least she might be, and that’s good enough for us. And as suspected, the internet is handling the possible union with its usual grace and dignity. Translation: They’re in a frenzy!
Brown, 19, known as Eleven on the hit Netflix show Stranger Things, has been in a relationship with Jake Bongiovi—her longtime boyfriend. We love this because it feels like we’ve grown up with the young beauty since she was introduced to us in 2016 at 12 years old.
Now, she’s 19 and just shocked the internet by possibly announcing her engagement to Jake Bongiovi.
Who Is Jake Bongiovi?
As it turns out, Bongiovi is 20 years old and also an actor. But if you think you’ve heard the name before, it’s likely not because he was in a hit television show or movie (at least not yet). If you recognize the name, it’s because he’s the second-youngest son of Jon Bon Jovi, from the 80s band Bon Jovi.
And if by chance you’re not a fan of 80s hair bands, you may recognize Daddy from a few television guest appearances, including Sex and the City Season 2 Episode 13. (He’s the hot guy Carrie met in her therapist’s waiting room.)
So back to junior, Jake is the second-youngest of Bon Jovi’s three other kids, Stephanie, 29, and sons Jesse, 28, and Romeo, 19.
Bongiovi is also friends with other cast members of Stranger Things, as he attended a Harry Styles concert with Noah Schnapp (Will Byers on the Netflix series). Brown attended with them, and her then-boyfriend (now fiance) posed for Instagram snaps with both Schnapp and Brown.
How Did They Meet?
During a recent interview, Brown revealed that the couple initially met on social media in 2021. According to her, they met on Instagram and were friends for a bit, eventually taking their friendship to another level. The pair would then go on to make several red-carpet appearances together throughout last year, including the British Academy Film Awards and the Stranger Things season 4 premiere.
The actress recently celebrated her 19th birthday in February with her man by her side. While the couple has been together for a few years, Twitter fans appeared shocked that she would get engaged at such a young age. They’re so stunned that #She’s19 is currently trending on social media.
In January, Brown shared some vacation pictures of the two, calling Bongiovi her “partner for life.” Now it appears they’ve made it official with a bit of bling.
The actress shared a black-and-white photo of the two embracing one another on a beach while she wore what looked like an engagement ring.
She wore a white lace cover-up with a massive diamond ring on her left ring finger. The post was captioned with Taylor Swift lyrics that read, “I’ve loved you three summers now, honey, I want ’em all.” She ended the post with a heart emoji.
